Tenerife

I have been to Tenerife twice and it is a fantastic place to travel. There are a lot of attractions and restaurants to go to for a week on a small island.

Attractions

1. Loro Parque

If you love animals, this is the place to go. Loro Parque is a fantastic attraction. They had a massive variety of animals including Dolphins, Orca Whales, Tigers, Penguins, Sea Lions, Parrots and many more. They even do brilliant shows, and my favourite two were seeing Sea lions and Parrots. They also provide a good range of cafes and restaurants. I would recommend spending a day here. They are the number 1 attraction in the world along with Siam Park, according to the Tripadvisor Travellers choice.

2. Siam Park

Siam Park is one of my favourite waterparks I have visited. The water rides are super thrilling, especially the Singha ride. My second favourite is the Wave Palace at Siam Beach. If you are feeling confident and have the adrenaline, try the Tower of Power! They also have fantastic restaurants and souvenir shops. I would recommend spending a day here. They are the number 1 attraction in the world along with Loro Parque according to the Tripadvisor Travellers choice.

3. Mount Teide National Park

When travelling to Tenerife, you must see the volcano. It was a fantastic experience, especially when driving towards the volcano. Take the cable car up and look at the stunning views.

4. Scuba Diving

Scuba diving in Tenerife was a fantastic experience to go underwater in the shores, and discovering some of the coral and fishes. I did this course with Tenerife Scuba, and they were friendly and well experienced. I'm not a professional diver, but luckily this place allowed try dives, and it was perfect. If I do return to Tenerife, I would not mind doing this again.

5. Go Karting

Karting Tenerife, located in the South of Tenerife, has a brilliant track to race on.

I do love racing, and I am a bit of a competitor. I did end up in 3rd after the race was over, which I was happy. Apart from that, it was fun to race and overtake other racers. I would recommend this if you want a fun activity to do during the day.

6. Forestal Park Tenerife

The Forestal Park is the largest treetop Adventure Park in the Canary Islands. The park is very similar to Go Ape in the UK. However, I would recommend this park as it was fun and exciting. The courses were thrilling to go on, including the Ziplines.

7. Lago Martianez

Lago Martianez, located in Puerto da la Cruz, is a beautiful open-air swimming pool for when you want to have a relaxing day near the beach. While you relax, you will hear the sound of the waves hitting against the rocks by the complex, and you would see the beautiful water feature in the pool. There are bars, restaurants and terraces in the complex too, to get some refreshments. Make sure to take sun cream!

Food and Drink

The food and drink in Tenerife were fantastic! They mainly do Paella and Tapas, but they do other things as well. They have fantastic sangrias to drink. During hot days, always treat yourselves to ice cream - I always go for the ice cream sandwich.

Accommodation and transport

I would recommend hiring a car for this type of holiday. There is public transport, but it would be flexible to get a car. To travel around the island only takes an hour, so there is a lot to do in a week.

The accommodation in Tenerife is also lovely. The hotel I stayed at El Tope, which I do recommend. They had a great swimming pool, bedrooms, a restaurant and a bar.
